Tulare, CA – Today, Central Valley native Alexandra Macedo announces her candidacy for California Assembly District 33. Assembly District 33 is located in the heart of the Central Valley, encompassing Kings County and portions of both Fresno and Tulare Counties.
Macedo is a fourth-generation farmer with a lifelong passion for agriculture. Alexandra’s family founded the livestock market Tulare Sales Yard in 1939. Today, they continue to operate the local business and harvest almonds on their family farm.
Alexandra graduated from Tulare Union High School and received her B.S. in Business Law at California State University, Northridge. Upon completing her undergraduate education, Alexandra returned to the Central Valley, where she partnered with her mother, Tina, in Macedo Engineering & Consulting with a mission to support dairy and crop farmers. Alexandra then attended San Joaquin College of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate. She now is the President of Macedo Environmental Consulting, a business focused on working with various administrative agencies and government programs to provide environmental compliance assistance to the men and women of the agriculture industry.
Alexandra made the following statement upon announcing her campaign:
“I am running for State Assembly to be a voice for the farmers, families, and small businesses of the Central Valley. It's time we change the direction of our state by suspending the gas tax, passing policies that support our farmers, and creating more opportunities for hardworking people to get ahead.”
